We support local social and cultural initiatives

On the 18^th and 19^th of June 2019, Tembo organized Joy and Pride days for their worldwide youngsters. Young Tembo employees from all over the world gathered in Poland. The Joy and Pride days enabled our youngsters to learn more about all our companies and to get to know each other. A company tour in ITM Poland given by Polish youngsters, company presentations, team building activities, an official diner and a BBQ all contributed to closer global Tembo connections. RNT Machinery supports the home for disabled children Ángeles de Conani. Not only the company itself, but also its employees voluntarily donate money. The employees at RNT Machinery also organize parties at the home to entertain the children. The children are abandoned children with for instance mental problems, HIV and physical disabilities. The company has been supporting this home since 2017.

The tremendous efforts of our worldwide personnel in 2018 helped to raise money for research into Multiple Scleroses (MS). 70 of our colleagues participated in the Zwolse Halve Marathon, others sponsored and collected money. the Tembo board doubled the amount of money raised. We were proudly able to hand over a cheque for 30 thousand euros to Dutch skaters and Olympic medal winners Ronald and Michel Mulder. In 2019 employees will participate and raise money for a cause again.

Employees of social company Impact in Kampen are pleased with the engineering skills of our Tembo-companies ITM and TDC. In their sparetime, our employees developed a semi-automatic jar-closing machine. This gives the disabled employees of Impact more joy and pride in their daily job. 

In the Dominican Republic, employees of our companies RNT Machinery and GTS/SCM voluntarily work on a reforestation plan, promoted by the Free Zone Corporation. This means that Tembo is helping to realise positive change by reforesting areas near cities.

Tembo is one of the founding fathers of regional innovation hub Perron038. Perron038 will be a smart space, where innovative companies can settle and a diversity of parties can meet and inspire each other in the vibrant centre of the hub. Additionally, there will be many opportunities for interns and graduates on all educational levels and training courses will be developed to update the skills of employees.

ITM Poland is patron of the International Composers Competition, which is held annually in Radom, Poland. The Arboretum contest aims to bring together contemporary music and the audiences of regular Philharmonic concerts. Managing director Leszek Sikora of ITM Poland: “We take great pleasure in sponsoring consecutive editions of the Arboretum. We are convinced that innovative entrepreneurship and such events as the Arboretum will ensure that Radom will be recognized as the city of inspiration."
