Thomas Automation Management (TAM) part of Tembo

As of August 1, Thomas Automation Management inc (TAM), based in the U.S.A., has become a full member of Tembo.

TAM will operate as an independent company within this group of companies, continuing to serve its customers as before as a provider of automation solutions and technical services. Current management of TAM will continue to manage the business in the same location.

Beneficial for customers

"This merge is the natural progression of our eight-year relationship with Tembo", says Ricky Thomas, CEO of TAM. "Our common customers in the tobacco industry will definitely benefit from the combined experience of our two companies. TAM is very excited to be part of a strong and well-respected group, with such a rich history."

TAM is great fit for group

Arend van der Sluis, chairman of the board of Tembo, comments: “We are proud to have such a capable representation in this part of the world for services and upgrades, close to our main customers in the tobacco industry. TAM’s strong innovative spirit is a great fit to our group and over the past years, many colleagues from TAM have mastered the most advanced machines of our portfolio, such as Capricorn, Saturn, Gemini, Polaris and Solaris. The TAM team have installed and serviced these machines not only in the US, but across the globe. This is a very solid base to deploy new projects together, both in the combustible area as in the area of next generation products.”

Valuable business partners

TAM was established in 2010 and has become a regional provider of automation integration services in a variety of US industries including tobacco, copper, electrical components, general manufacturing and wood processing. From the beginning, TAM has worked closely with Tembo on multiple projects that have fostered the cooperation and trust of both companies. Through the addition of TAM, Tembo comprises fourteen different companies, with 22 sites and service centres worldwide. The companies each have their own expertise and strengthen each other by combining these capabilities. In total, more than 1200 employees work for the group, of which the head office is located in Kampen.
